About the studio

A studio built on restraint, conversation, and a deep love for the Gulf Coast.

Devhassy Studio was founded in 2014 by Leonel G. Ramirez, a former gallery installer who quietly transitioned into helping families style the homes they actually live in. A decade later, it's still a small practice — and that is very much on purpose.

Leonel G. Ramirez, founder · League City, TX

Leonel grew up between Houston and Galveston, in houses where the air conditioner ran year-round and the front porch always had a pair of muddy boots beside the door. That sense of a home being worked in — never just photographed — sits at the center of every project the studio takes on.

Before Devhassy, Leonel spent seven years installing exhibitions for a small contemporary art gallery in Midtown Houston. That training shows up in how we frame a sightline, how we live with negative space, and how rarely we reach for the obvious accessory.

Today the studio works on about fourteen homes a year across League City, Friendswood, Clear Lake, Kemah and Galveston. We answer our own emails. We show up to every install. And we sketch every floor plan by hand before anything goes on a screen.

"A good room doesn't announce itself. It just lets you sit down."

What we believe

Restraint over abundance

We add slowly. A single hand-thrown pot earns its place more than ten new things from a catalog.

Local before global

Wherever possible, we source from Texas makers — Marfa potters, Austin weavers, Houston framers. The home picks up their fingerprints.

Real life, not staged life

Rooms are designed for muddy boots, sticky hands, and Sunday newspapers. If a piece can't take that, it doesn't make the cut.

Honest materials

Linen wrinkles. Oak ages. Brass patinas. We choose finishes that get prettier with use, not duller.

A small client list

We cap projects at fourteen homes a year. Less volume, more attention.

The long view

A Devhassy room should still feel right ten years from now. That's the only style we chase.
